Axelar is a universal overlay network, connecting all blockchain ecosystems, applications, assets, and users to deliver Web3 interoperability. Axelar interoperability service system consists of an underlying decentralized network as well as cross-chain protocol APIs to help developers deliver a better cross-chain experience for users.
Axelar primarily offers two basic cross-chain functions that can be added to DApp:
- Token transfers: Send & receive fungible tokens securely from any chain to any chain, including Cosmos-to-EVM and other complex transfers.
- General Message Passing: Call any function on any EVM chain from inside a dApp; compose DeFi functions; move NFTs cross-chain; perform cross-chain calls of any kind that sync state securely between dApps on various ecosystems.
