Dharma Network aims to solve the problem of rewarding teams transparently inside distributed organizations and incentivizing productivity. We use blockchain technology combined with the advantages of decentralized finance to create a fair, democratic and sustainable reward system that benefits all participants in a fair way.
Organizations are shifting from the traditional hierarchical organization models into distributed networks of teams that work together on projects.
Teams are key components of any project. Motivating and rewarding people is a key factor in the success of any modern-day organization, and that is the motivation for launching a product that helps organizations motivate and boost their teams performance.
Initial scope of MVP will focus on software development organizations.
With Dharma Network any organization with multiple projects and teams can:
- Automatically track developer's activity on Github, GitLab (and other git-based version management systems).
- Collect participants' feedback on key metrics about the project they're working on.
- Allow participants to vote on how their work is evaluated and rewarded inside each project.
- Reward each team with Dharma tokens based on the work output of each participant and their team.
- Teams are able to see what’s going on the multiple projects inside the organization
- Developers are able to mint NFTs that prove they’re the authors of a given feature inside a project (even for private repos).
Dharma network DApp runs on DHARM the utility token launched as an Algorand Standard Asset (Asset id: 818432243) on the Algorand network.
DHARM is a mineable token that will be mined based on provable and publicly verifiable real work done by each team.
To create a trustable system with a fair distribution of rewards, we need an ethical utility token that cannot be manipulated by creators, admins or individuals. Dharma is backed by real productivity and real human efforts. We’ve created an asset that can’t be manipulated to ensure the scarcity of the token.
Mineable tokens can be created or minted based on some activity (in the case of Bitcoin it is the proof of Work to find the nonce) in the case of Dharma Network the activity is the Proof or Real Work done by each user on a specific project.
Every activity entry (like shown on the image) is imported from an external independent system (in the case of our MVP the external information is imported from github) and has a publicly known unique identifier. Example of a github commit sha:(7fd1a60b01f91b314f59955a4e4d4e80d8edf11d)
This is accessible and verifiable via the github public API: https://api.github.com/repos/octocat/Hello-World/git/commits/7fd1a60b01f91b314f59955a4e4d4e80d8edf11d
