According to TokenUnlocks, Layer 1 public chain Aptos will unlock 20 million $APT tokens (worth about $103 million) on November 12 at 0:00 UTC, which is equivalent to more than 8.5% of the $APT circulating supply of 235.02 million. This will be the first time the unlocking will be in front of teams and investors.
The number of $APT tokens unlocked in November equaled 112% of the average daily trading volume over the past 30 days, research firm The Tie said. The firm said earlier this year that unlocks that free up liquidity, or those that represent over 100% of the average daily volume, tend to weigh over prices.
These unlocks will occur on a monthly basis and will coincide with the monthly staking reward unlocks (5.83 million $APT or 32% of daily average volume, which will increase to 6.15 million $APT in December). In addition, 4.62 million $APT has been unlocked to communities and foundations each month since last year," The Tie said.
