Arbitrum Announces DAO Airdrop Details, GMX and Treasure to Receive 8M $ARB Respectively

Arbitrum announced the details of the DAO airdrop, saying that only projects on Arbitrum with a DAO and a community treasury are eligible to participate in this distribution. The only exception is Protocol Guild, a collective of Ethereum core devs and contributors.

113 million $ARB, which is 1.13% of the total supply, will be used for the DAO airdrop. Arbitrum said that factors considered for distributing tokens to DAOs include launch date, whether it was native or multichain, how much TVL, activity, transaction volume, value of transactions and others. In addition, Arbitrum disclosed the full list of DAOs and their allocations. GMX and Treasure will receive 8 million $ARB respectively, ranking the first. Uniswap and SushiSwap will get more than 4 million. The full list can be viewed here.

Arbitrum said, "the hope and intention is that by distributing to Arbitrum DAOs, we're able to spread governance power more widely amongst users than solely allocating to those who were eligible for the airdrop." The DAO airdrop will not replace a grants program. The Arbitrum Foundation and DAO will begin grants programs soon.
