Carry1st Closed $20 Million in Financing Led by a16z

TokenInsight news, South Africa-based gaming platform Carry1st has closed a $20 million funding round led by a16z, with participation from Avenir and Google. The funding is reportedly a16z's first investment in the African region. The raised funds will be used to expand its content portfolio, grow its development team, and expand into new growth strategies. Carry1st is a game trading platform and is also building its own payment platform. Its embedded payment solution allows underbanked consumers to pay for content on its site via cryptocurrency.
