Israeli police announced the crypto accounts related to Hamas on Binance have been frozen with the help of the exchange, according to local media Calcalist's reports.
Previously, Hamas launched a fundraising campaign asking the public to deposit cryptocurrencies into its accounts. The cyber unit of Israeli police organization Lahav 433 said it worked with the country's defense ministry, intelligence services, and Binance to freeze Hamas-related accounts on the exchange. The funds will go into the Israeli treasury.
When the US Commodities Futures and Trading Commission (CFTC) sued Binance and CZ in March, the regulator alleged that Binance's executives were aware of Hamas-linked transactions on the platform.
