Optimism has announced the launch of Drippie, a trust-minimized Ethereum-native conditional transaction system that allows users to execute transactions under certain conditions. Among other things, Drippie allows users to program (in Solidity) sets of checks or actions on drips to perform most of the on-chain operations that Optimism needs on a daily basis. Optimism uses drips to maintain balances of various accounts, routinely move funds between L1 and L2, and automatically pay for Drippie's transactions. Drippie is said to sit on top of other transaction automation systems and is currently powered by Gelato, whose team also plans to integrate Chainlink Keepers as backups to ensure Drippie keeps running.
