Ordinals Protocol version 0.6.0 has been released with significant updates regarding Cursed Inscriptions. Cursed Inscriptions refer to negative number inscriptions, and currently, there are -71,508 of them.
Cursed Inscriptions are a format that cannot be indexed by ordinals protocol. Unlike normal inscriptions, which are assigned positive inscription numbers, cursed inscriptions are assigned negative inscription numbers. The first cursed inscription is -1, and we are now at -71,508. While positive inscription numbers will never change, negative inscription numbers can and will change. If a new edge case is discovered and a new type of cursed inscription is added, existing cursed inscriptions will be reindexed, and new cursed inscriptions will be inserted, resulting in changes to negative inscription numbers.
According to Leonidas.og, co-founder of Ord.io, when the market upgrades to v0.6.0, they will be tradable.
Furthermore, after the upgrade, at a certain block activation height in the future, specific types of cursed inscriptions can be reindexed into normal positive inscriptions. When existing cursed inscriptions are indexed into positive inscriptions and new cursed inscriptions are inserted, it means that every specific negative inscription held will be changed and may change multiple times (without affecting positive inscriptions).
