Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Goes Live

Polygon announced that the Polygon zkEVM mainnet beta is live. The first transaction on the network was performed by Vitalik Buterin at 14:25 UTC. Buterin said in the message that, "A few million constraints for man, unconstrained scalability for mankind."

Polygon zkEVM aims to offer scalability, security and EVM equivalency at the same time. Polygon said that multiple infrastructure providers, DApps, and gaming projects are launching on Polygon zkEVM from day one, including Balancer, Lens, The Graph and others. In addition, Polygon zkEVM is fully open-sourced, allowing developers to access repositories to modify, use, and distribute as they see fit.

Polygon zkEVM is the second zkEVM launched on the mainnet. On March 24th, zkSync Era opened its mainnet to all users.
