Ethereum Layer 2 Starknet has announced plans to allocate over 1.8 billion STRK tokens across multiple initiatives to drive the adoption and growth of the Starknet ecosyste.
The first phase of plan includes allocating 900M STRK token to reward past and future contributors by users and community members. The team said they have been working on this phase of distribution for a while and there will be a formal announcement soon.
In addition, Starknet has dedicated another 900M STRK tokens for users rebates. This initiative seeks to reward users for their transactions on the network.
Starknet has also allocated an initial 50M STRK to explore the direct, indirect and retroactive incentivisation of activity on DeFi protocols by boosting liquidity, volume traded and general growth of the DeFi landscape on Starknet.
