WisdomTree Amends Bitcoin ETF Application Appoints Bank of America as Custodian

TokenInsight news that asset manager WisdomTree has amended its Bitcoin ETF filing with the SEC to designate Bank of America as its custodian. The filing is an amendment to its March 11 spot bitcoin ETF, which was filed with the SEC before Bank of America offered cryptocurrency custody services to institutional investors. On December 2, the SEC rejected a proposed rule change by the Chicago Board Options Exchange BZX Exchange to allow shares of the WisdomTree Bitcoin Trust to be listed and traded. It is unclear whether the recent revisions are intended to reset the timing of new spot bitcoin ETF applications, as WisdomTree waited 265 days from its initial filing to the SEC's denial. in May, WisdomTree filed a separate ETF application for an ethereum trust with the SEC, which is still under review.
