Ethereum Layer2 scaling solution zkSync announced that the 2.0 mainnet will undergo a regenesis before it reaches Fair Onboarding Alpha, which is the second phase of the mainnet launch. As the 2.0 mainnet is currently in the Baby Alpha phase and only open to the zkSync core team, the regenesis will not affect users.
The zkSync 2.0 mainnet launch has three phases, Baby Alpha, Fair Onboarding Alpha and Full Launch Alpha. The first phase, which is only open to zkSync team members, went live last October. zkSync said the mainnet is "so close to Fair Onboarding Alpha", in which registered projects can deploy contracts and test the system. The third phase is expected to go live in Q2 2023, when the mainnet will be open to all users.
