90% Chance ETH Futures ETF Launch in October | Crypto Daily Digest Sep.28
According to analysts at Bloomberg, Ethereum futures exchange-traded funds (ETFs) may be introduced as early as next week. Eric Balchunas, an ETF analyst at Bloomberg, mentioned that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has requested various applicants to update their documents by Friday. This update would allow them to start trading as early as Tuesday next week.
The SEC's desire to complete this task within the current week likely stems from the looming potential U.S. Government shutdown on October 1, should Congress fail to reach an agreement or provide funding for the new fiscal year. Such a shutdown would impact various federal agencies, including financial regulators.
There are currently 15 Ethereum futures ETFs from 9 issuers awaiting approval, applicants include VanEck, ProShares, Grayscale, Volatility Shares, Bitwise, Direxion, and Roundhill. The analyst gave Ethereum futures ETFs a 90% chance of launching in October.
