$ETH Staking Ratio over 20% | Crypto Daily Digest July. 12

$ETH staking is now over 20%, but inflows have slowed after the initial spike following the Ethereum Shanghai upgrade.

The slowing down of new stakers may be caused by regulatory risk. Early June was a key turning point for inflows when the U.S. SEC sued Binance and Coinbase. SEC alleged both exchanges offered unregistered securities with their staking services.

Net flows into ETH staking plummeted for a period and turned negative after the SEC lawsuit. Since then, flows returned positive but at a slower level.
