Akash Network launched "Supercloud" early this month, which aims to decentralize access to high-density graphics processing unit (GPU) chips. At present, the count of GPUs being employed is 97 with total number of GPUs capacity being 159.
Akash Network Introduces Supercloud to Offer Decentralized GPU Resources
Akash combines the resources of multiple public and private clouds into a single, unified platform with a peer-to-peer marketplace to buy and sell computing resources, including high-density GPUs. Akash is now the only network to offer high-density chipsets such as NVIDIA H100s, A100s, and V100s which are critical for Artificial Intelligence applications and are extremely hard to acquire on traditional Cloud.
Due to the enduring high demand for computing power and the sustained interest in AI, Akash Network's native token, $AKT, has consistently outperformed the market since the beginning of the year. According to TokenInsight data, the native token $AKT has surged by nearly 350% year-to-date.
