BOB is a Hybrid Layer-2 that fuses Bitcoin’s security with Ethereum’s smart-contract ecosystem: it uses BitVM-based optimistic verification on Bitcoin to secure an L2 rollup and operate trust-minimized bridges for BTC, ETH and other L1 assets, aiming to concentrate BTC liquidity in a Bitcoin-anchored DeFi hub. The project follows a staged roadmap—first launching as an OP-Stack Ethereum L2, then adding Bitcoin soft finality and a BitVM-secured BTC bridge, and ultimately targeting full Bitcoin security once scale makes Bitcoin-layer data availability economical. The BOB token (10B fixed supply) underpins staking to Hybrid Nodes, decentralized governance, ecosystem incentives, and potential fee/buyback mechanics as BOB becomes a gateway for Bitcoin DeFi.
